Family Friendly Gaming News
Karlstad, Sweden – August 13, in the
year of our Lord 2024 – Clear River Games, a video game
publisher specialising in classic and retro games, in
conjunction with Japanese publisher City Connection, and
developers Happymeal and Pleocene, unveiled today the first
English language trailer for the forthcoming game OMEGA 6 The
Triangle Stars, a new 16-Bit retro-futuristic adventure game
from celebrated visionary Takaya Imamura.
Based on the popular manga OMEGA 6, due for release by Dark
Horse Comics, the space-based adventure features an entirely new
cast of otherworldly characters, lovingly rendered in retro
16-Bit styling, reminiscent of the treasured catalogue of
characters created by Imamura-san in gaming’s golden heyday.
OMEGA 6 The Triangle Stars follows the adventures of Thunder and
Kyra, two humanoids entrusted by their creator, Dr Victor
Franklin, with discovering a new planet for the human race to
inhabit after earth has become overrun with an influx of
migratory extra-terrestrials. Journeying the cosmos onboard
their craft, Omega 6, before our heroes can find mankind's new
home, they must first traverse ancient ruins in pursuit of the
ultimate treasure in order to pay off... a planetary loan?!
With a body of work including legendary Nintendo franchises such
as F-Zero™, Zelda™ and Star Fox™, acclaimed art director Takaya
Imamura takes the lead in story and art direction for OMEGA 6
The Triangle Stars, while composer Shinobu Amayake, also
ex-Nintendo, is on board creating a stunning original soundtrack
for the new game.
OMEGA 6 The Triangle Stars is due for release in 2025 for
Nintendo Switch and Steam via developers Happymeal Inc and
Pleocene, and publishing partners Clear River Games and City
Connection.
