-- Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in
covering the family friendly video games is continuing to be the
voice of diversity in the gaming media, and media at large. We
are getting close to wrapping up all of the live streams in
reaction to the different events related to the Summer Game Fest
2024. There has been a theme from the different hosts of these
shows about how tough times has hit the video game industry. Our
hearts, minds, and prayers go out to all of the people that lost
their jobs. I have plenty of diverse thoughts on this topic.
Which I will attempt to get to in this column. I also feel bad
for anyone that has lost their job in this horrible economy with
massive inflation thanks to the Biden presidency. How many
people in the video game industry voted for him? How many video
games have gone woke so they are now going broke?
Joseph was very wise and he listened to God. When there were
good times he put grain away for the tough times that came next.
How many in the video game industry did that? When the pandemic
increased profits for these companies, how many put money away?
I can tell you that they did not invest in Family Friendly
Gaming in any way, shape or form. I have to work a day job to
pay for all of the Family Friendly Gaming bills. Almost everyone
in PR and Marketing is so self absorbed they do not ever put
money away to help Family Friendly Gaming. So for me it has been
decades of tough times. I have to work two jobs - one to pay the
bills, and the other one is what I actually enjoy doing. My hard
work makes these companies all kinds of money. They never
financially thank us for that hard work.
Since I must work a day job I am unable to cover as many games
as I would like to. If I could do Family Friendly Gaming full
time then I could help more of them. Since they are small minded
and short sided they do not advertise or sponsor. Some of these
companies laid off workers or went bankrupt because they never
bothered to help us. If we could have done this full time it
could have kept those jobs and those companies running. They did
not put money away, and they did not help us so we could help
them. In many ways they created this situation themselves. They
had to know the pandemic lockdowns would not last forever. They
had to know a massive spike in sales would not continue forever.
I went to these companies to get them to support Family Friendly
Gaming so we could help them more in the future. They ignored
me.
Every single day for me is tough times. Every single day for me
is a struggle. Every single day for me is begging and pleading
others to do the right thing. I am not trying to sound callous.
I face pain every single day of my life. I face problems
constantly. I have dealt with these problems for decades. I
begged and pleaded for help for decades. Very few people answer
that call. Very few people help. I have a real issue with
millionaires and billionaires asking for money to support their
massive profits. Maybe their profits are down. Many of them are
still making profits, and still keeping all that money. They do
not invest in FFG. They do not invest in their people. I have no
sympathy for the millionaires and billionaires trying to use
this inflation and economic downturn to their financial benefit.
They have not helped us in the past, and I doubt they will help
in the future. Unless this column opens their eyes. They can
turn it around right now. Will they?
