Yet another BAD Memphis Experience
Family Friendly Gaming News
Cordova, TN; June 24, in the year of our Lord 2024
-- Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the
family friendly video games is continuing to be the voice of
diversity in the gaming media, and media at large. Noah and
myself went to the final regular game of the season for the
Memphis Showboats. It was held in the aging Liberty Bowl. I have
been to numerous pro football, baseball, basketball, and hockey
games in my life. The experience at the Liberty Bowl continues
to be one of the worst of all time. There are echoes in the
sound system every time a referee makes an announcement. Music
audio will glitch out here and there. The seats are
uncomfortable, and the prices are way too high. Especially for
the measly food or drink you can get.
All of that pales in comparison to the issue this last time. I
have been to the Liberty Bowl before and paid cash for things.
This time there was no cash allowed. So I was on the phone with
Yolanda getting things setup on Apple Wallet so Noah could eat
and watched this lady awkwardly get up from one of those old
picnic tables and fall flat on her face. It was concrete she
fell on by the way. Great for the knees and ankles to be walking
on. Even worse for someone falling on their face. People were
shouting, screaming, and running around trying to find someone
who was capable of helping. In typical Memphis fashion someone
eventually sauntered over and called on a walkie talkie to
someone else. I do not know if that lady received timely
assistance or not. I am not an EMT, and I don't have the
training to assist.
What is with these places discriminating against people with
cash? I use cash whenever and wherever I can. It just irritates
me that this place is like nope its gotten be some credit, or
debit card. It soured by experience even worse than only five
hundred people being there. That is my personal estimate from
what I saw of people there. There may have been more than that.
I know both end zones were empty, the entire visitor half was
empty. There were more open seats on our side than people. We
could move wherever we wanted with no issue. For me it is the
typical lame experience with Memphis. I doubt this team will be
in this city in three to five years. It might even be gone in as
early as two years. They have one more year on their lease. The
best part for us was recording some short videos.
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.
God bless,
