CritterGarden Coming Soon

Family Friendly Gaming News

Lansing, Michigan, June 10th, in the year of our Lord 2025 | Minjonia Studios is proud to announce that their debut title, CritterGarden, will soon be available on Steam, with a free public demo currently available. Created by a biology teacher turned game developer, CritterGarden started as a passion project inspired by cozy creature-collecting games such as Viva Piñata. It has since grown into its own unique game that the solo dev studio is thrilled to share with audiences. CritterGarden combines elements of creature collecting with the beloved farming sim genre, promising countless hours of Critter-filled fun.

Welcome to CritterGarden!

After a shipwreck accident in outer space, you find yourself stranded on a lifeless planet. As an astrobiologist, your mission is simple: Gather plants, animals, recipes, and research upgrades to help the planet regain its full potential. Collect, breed, and grow up to 96 cute and quirky Critters. Along the way, you'll also need to recover the lost parts of your ship to ensure a safe return home!

Help Grow Healthy and Strong Critters

Critters have complex needs that must be met to breed them and keep them happy! Each species requires a unique diet. Discover new Critters by growing the ones currently in your garden to complete the Critter tree of life. Be prepared to care for a wide variety of animals, including farm animals and livestock, as well as wild animals like armadillos and kangaroos in the desert, polar bears and penguins in the arctic, and even mythical creatures such as sasquatches and dragons. It is your job to ensure that you create balanced ecosystems across different biomes by managing your resources and available space to support a diverse range of species.

Tend to your crops

When growing crops, it is essential to consider the appropriate biome and a suitable surface that will allow them to thrive. Take care of your crops' specific needs and experiment with different techniques to achieve the best results for your harvest. Document every new item in the journal system to work towards 100% completion of your Critter and plant collections. Plant and sow your crops, feed your Critters, and sell any surplus to purchase unlockable customized items, tools, farm layouts, and designs. Complete research upgrades to enhance the durability of your garden tools, allowing you to work faster, breed Critters more quickly, and earn currency more rapidly.

Lore-filled mini games and craft to your heart’s content!

Create personalized gardens through crafting recipes, such as cactus gardens, mushroom gorges, and more! Play four classic arcade-style mini-games to collect all necessary missing ship parts. Throughout your journey, your robot companion will task you with quests filled with lore and valuable rewards. Gradually uncover the lore behind why the planet you’ve landed on is void of all life and what secrets your mysterious and helpful robot companion is hiding.
