Limited Run Games Levels Up its Commitment to a Fan-First Strategy in 2026
Family Friendly Gaming News
Apex, North Carolina – March 17, in the year of our Lord 2026
- Limited Run Games (LRG), a premium publisher of
physical games, today announced a renewed fan-first focus for
the company - centered on celebrating the community,
strengthening communication, and delivering a more consistent
experience around every release.
LRG’s mission remains the same: celebrate games through
authentic preservation, premium physical releases, and
Collector's Editions that honor the stories, creators, and
communities behind them. This moment reflects a strengthened
commitment to how LRG shows up for fans and partners - with
clearer updates, more consistent visibility, and a higher
standard of communication from announcement through delivery.
Fans will soon notice the difference with a regular cadence of
blog posts, social media updates, and emails designed to inform
and update, providing a better understanding of delivery times
and product specific details. Just as importantly, the new
fan-first philosophy reflects a renewed focus on the
fundamentals fans depend on: product quality, reliable
fulfillment, and a commitment to regular, timely, and
informative communication.
Since launching in 2015, LRG has helped preserve more than 1,000
video game titles and bring countless Collector Editions to life
for fans who believe physical games still matter. LRG thanks
departing President Josh Fairhurst for his leadership and the
foundation he helped build over the last decade and wishes him
continued success for the future.
Going forward, stewardship of the Limited Run Games brand and
business operations will be led cooperatively by Nic Ashford,
Chief Operating Officer, and Brendan Madigan, Chief Financial
Officer - with Ashford overseeing operations and fulfillment and
Madigan overseeing business performance and partner support.
“LRG exists because fans care deeply about games and
preservation,” said Brendan Madigan, who has been part of the
LRG team since 2021. “This community is the lifeblood of the
company - and in a very real way, it is the company. Our focus
is to keep building on that mission while raising the bar on how
we communicate and how we show up for the community. We want
every fan to feel confident in what an LRG release means - and
to be able to verify that confidence through clearer milestones,
more visible progress, and more consistent follow-through.”
“We know trust is something you earn over time,” said Nic
Ashford. “That means being clear, being consistent, and keeping
fans closer to the process as projects move from announcement to
production to delivery. It also means tightening the basics -
stronger production oversight and Quality Control standards,
faster escalation when something is not right, and more
proactive communication when timelines shift.”
LRG’s leadership team also includes Chris Pirrotta, VP Marketing
& Fan Experience, bringing over 25 years of experience building
fan-first communities (TheOneRing.net) and collector-first
businesses (Sideshow.com). Pirrotta will lead fan-first
initiatives across marketing, community, and communication -
steering a focus on more community participation, clearer
expectations, and more predictable, reliable updates
“We’re excited to strengthen the fan experience around every
release,” said Pirrotta. “More predictable, reliable updates -
plus clearer expectations and better visibility into progress.
Trust is our product, and we’re excited to keep building it.”
What fans can expect next:
In the coming weeks, LRG will share more about fan-facing
improvements designed to make the experience of buying and
owning an LRG title more transparent and predictable. As part of
this reset, we are reviewing every in-progress project with a
higher quality and communication bar - and that will mean
updated timelines for some releases. When dates move, you will
hear it from us directly, with the reason, the updated target
window, and the next milestone, so you can track progress. Fans
can also expect clearer release status communications, a more
consistent update cadence for in-progress projects, and more
proactive notifications as key milestones change.
