PopCap Games Adds Popular Lightning Mode in Anticipated Update for BejeweledŽ iPhoneŽ and BejeweledŽ HD for iPadŽ

SEATTLE, Washington—July 12, in the year of our Lord 2012—PopCap Games, the worldwide leader in casual video games and a division of EA, today announced an exciting new update to BejeweledŽ for iPhoneŽ and BejeweledŽ HD for iPadŽ, now featuring the ever-popular Lightning mode. Existing players can download the update for free. First time players can purchase the full game, which will now include Lightning mode for U.S. $.99 and U.S. $3.99, respectively.

With the addition of Lightning mode, the Bejeweled and Bejeweled HD update takes PopCap’s marquee franchise to new levels with crisp, beautiful colors while delivering a total of five breathtaking game modes in all.

In Lightning mode, players test their gem swapping agility in a race against time as never before. As before, they can also ease into Classic mode for cascades of fun, save Butterflies from a hungry spider in Butterflies mode, dig into Diamond Mine mode for a gem-blasting challenge, or slip into Zen mode for a revolutionary new way to relax. Players can also collect Bejeweled badges, compete with their friends on Game Center leaderboards and achievements, and create electrifying special gems, including Flame gems, Star gems, and Hypercubes!
