Nintendo Direct Mini 7-18-2013
Cordova, TN; July 18, in the year of our Lord 2013--Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family friendly video games is providing coverage of the Nintendo Direct Mini from this morning. Family Friendly Gaming received no notification this event was occuring. In fact we only found out about it after the event.
We watch apples drop and then Bill Trinen (Treehouse Nintendo of America Inc) welcomes us. Promises us updates for upcoming Wii U and 3DS titles. He references Pikmin 3, and Animal Crossing New Leaf. Animal Crossing New Leaf video is shown. He shows his town. Image share is talked about (hit L or R button). These can be uploaded to social sites to advertise the game for Nintendo. You will not be provided any money for these advertisements.
Other games that let you share pictures are Art Academy Lessons for Everyone, Style Savvy Trendsetters, and Spirit Camera. They added to the favorites list in the Nintendo browser, so you can share your pictures on Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr easier.
Animal Crossing New Leaf lets you share your towns via street pass. Nintendo Zone is referenced. As well as places you can find it. You can Streetpass with them whether they are currently there are not. Streetpass with the last person who was there - a Streetpass relay. Nintendo wants you to make visiting a Nintendo Zone site part of your daily chores.
New games for Mii Plaza are shown. Mii Force, Flower Town, Warriors Way, and Monster Manor are shown. Tickets are earned in the games, which provide new hats. Nintendo is trying to make it easier to connect with others via Streetpass. Since we all know how difficult it actually is.
New video for Mario & Luigi Dream Team is shown. Comes out August 11th. Another Luigi note - new Luigi puzzle in puzzle plaza. Non-family game is shown, as well as a special offer related to it. Major plugs are done for that game, and Fire Emblem. Pokemon X and Pokemon Y is coming October 12. The Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds and Mario Party on the 3DS are coming in November 2013.
Time to talk about Wii U games. Pikmin 3 comes out on August 4th. He talks about Bingo Battle. He references strategies, and the twelve different stages. Three variations in each of the stages. Connect your system to the Internet to compare your scores with others around the world. Mission mode, and single player round out the Bingo Battle modes.
New video for The Wonderful 101. It looks very Power Rangers mixed with a little Superman. San Diego Comic Con is plugged, since they plan on pushing this game at that event. The Wonderful 101 comes out September 15th. References to The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD, Wii Party U, Sonic Lost World, Disney Planes, Donkey kong Country Tropical Freeze, and Super Mario 3D World are all coming before the end of the year. Rayman Legends, Just Dance 2014,Disney Infinity, Skylanders Swap Force, Scribblenauts Unmasked, and others will have Wii U Gamepad exclusive content. They will also be released this year.
Time for eShop games. Cloudberry Kingdom from Ubisoft. The levels are randomly generated. Comes out on August 1st. DuckTales Remastered is referenced, and a video is shown. Looks awesome. Comes out on August 13th. Spin the Bottle Bumpie's Party is shown. This is an odd looking party game. No kissing is required. Comes out in August.
They tried something new this E3. The Best Buy experience is referenced. The four games shown are referenced. That lame experience was annoying at best. They thanked the few who were able to actually play those games. They will be doing this for a weekend at Gamestop with Pikmin 3. Pre-purchase of the downloadable version is plugged - which will get you the game one day early.
Video for Earthbound is shown. It is out on the Wii U today. The Earthbound manual is available digitally. Sorry no scratch and sniff technology on the digital version.
