Halfbrick joins new Google Play initiative to Promote Family-Friendly content
AUSTRALIA, Brisbane – June 19th, in the year of our Lord 2015 – The creators of Fruit Ninja have joined a new Google Play initiative to make app discovery faster and easier for families, developer Halfbrick has announced.
The new Google Play family-friendly experience makes it easy for parents to find family-friendly content on Google Play by incorporating new filtering tools, prominent age ratings and more. The initiative is a perfect fit for Fruit Ninja Academy: Math Master, which has been included alongside a select group of books, TV shows and movies for the program’s official launch.
Halfbrick’s new learning companion forgoes advertising, in-app purchases, and online connectivity in favour of child safety and world-class privacy standards, encapsulating the family-first approach which is championed throughout the program.
Shainiel Deo, CEO at Halfbrick, said this was a key factor in the game’s inclusion. “Google Play is packed with apps, so finding high-quality products that are also kid-friendly can be a daunting task,” he said. “Now parents can cut through the clutter to find safe, engaging and age-appropriate content with ease."
"These changes gave us the confidence to pursue a business model which, in some regards, is quite risky," added Kate Hynes, Halfbrick's chief legal officer. "We hope the extra visibility provided by this program will encourage other developers to do the same."
In related news, Halfbrick has also created an exclusive sticker pack to mark this launch. The extra content is available free of charge on Google Play, and allows budding students to create custom postcards starring the iconic Android robot.
Fruit Ninja Academy: Math Master is available for USD$4.99 on Google Play.
