Nyko Type Pad for Xbox One Releases

LOS ANGELES - October 27, in the year of our Lord 2015 - Nyko today announced the release of the Type Pad for Xbox One, a full QWERTY keyboard attachment that easily snaps onto the bottom of Xbox One controllers and streamlines textual communications, both in-game and out. The Type Pad improves upon two areas that gamers have demanded, with a mini-analog nub for quick menu navigation, and a “.com” shortcut button. You can find the Type Pad at GameStop, Amazon, or the Nyko online store today for $34.99.

“Traditional console controllers have been honed and optimized for modern play, but textual input remains fairly cumbersome,” said Chris Arbogast, Nyko’s head of sales and marketing. “The Type Pad aims to make some improvements in the areas of navigation and convenient, streamlined input, all in an attractive design that doesn’t detract from the gameplay.”

The Type Pad is compatible with original and new style Xbox One controllers, with support for headsets through a retractable 3.5” headphone jack, and allows players to simply switch between spoken and textual communications. It can also be used to make non-Xbox headsets functional with an old controller without the need for an adaptor. Additionally, the device acts as an Xbox headset adaptor, which provides complete access to both volume and mixer controls when using a new controller featuring the 3.5” headphone jack and a standard headset. The Type Pad communicates with the console via a small USB dongle (2.4ghz) and is powered directly by the controller.
