WRC 8 Releases on Switch

Lesquin, France, November 19, in the year of our Lord 2019 – After the commercial and critical success of the PC, PS4™ and Xbox One versions released on September the 5th, WRC 8 – the official game of the FIA World Rally Championship – arrives on Nintendo Switch™ today in North America. Dubbed the new benchmark for rally games by fans and press alike, Nintendo Switch™ owners can now get behind the wheel and feel all the adrenaline of rally driving.

With all-new car and surface physics, as well as unique dynamic weather conditions for each country, WRC 8 is an overhaul that provides players with true simulation-based gameplay.

Deeper than ever, it currently features 52 international rally teams, 100 special stages across 14 countries, and a selection of classic rally cars that are legends of WRC history. The Career mode has been rebuilt from the ground up to create even greater immersion. It puts the player in the shoes of a rally driver and manager who must progress over the course of several seasons to compete in the WRC category and become world champion. As part of a team, players must plan their calendar, manage their crew, recruit new members and develop a strategy to reach the very top.

The eSports WRC Championship is the only one to mirror the real-life series. This year, nine world finalists went head to head in the Service Park at Wales Rally GB in Llandudno. The French driver Lohan "NEXL" Blanc was ultimately victorious on 5 October and drove away with a Hyundai i20. He also tried the Nintendo Switch™ version of the game as co-driver to Dani Sordo at RallyRACC Catalunya – Rally de España.

The eSports WRC championship will return in 2020. Weekly challenges offer a chance for players to compete against each other and test their skills. And the race to the 2020 world final will begin during Rallye Monte-Carlo in January 2020.
