Paper Beast coming to PC

8th June in the year of our Lord 2020 - Montpellier, France - For immediate release - Independent studio Pixel Reef, has announced that Paper Beast, their VR exploration and adventure game, will be coming to PC (Steam.VR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive) this summer, following the critically acclaimed release on Playstation®VR earlier this year.

The PC version of the game will see a host of new features including continuous move support, upgraded visuals, gameplay tweaks, an expanded sandbox mode, more animals, plants as well as items.

“I’m super excited that we can finally talk about the PC version of Paper Beast!”, says Eric Chahi, founder of Pixel Reef. “The initial reaction to the PlayStation 4 version by both the fans and the critics was beyond what we could have imagined, so we really can’t wait to make the game available for VR players on PC. Besides, we had a really fun time going back into development and adding a bunch of cool new surprises to this version of Paper Beast.”

As the first explorer of this virgin land, players discover that interaction with creatures is the heart of the gameplay. They form delicate bonds with fascinating and exotic stirring creatures. By joining their efforts they make progress in the adventure: together they overcome obstacles and environmental puzzles.

Players can save creatures from predators or natural dangers, shape the environment, and avoid digital storms. Every interaction is powered by a unique extensive physics engine.

Paper Beast was created from the ground up for virtual reality: through experimentation and manipulation, players understand the mysteries of this universe.

Two modes are available for Paper Beast: the adventure mode for the player to explore a dreamlike world, inhabited by fascinating creatures and the sandbox mode, an almost-infinite experimentation playground.

The Sandbox mode approximates a god game experience, where experimentation and ecosystem play a major role. The player can sculpt the terrain, create rivers, play with the weather, and interact with creatures and plants. All consequences are calculated in real-time by the deep physics engine that powers Paper Beast.

Paper Beast’s OST, between ambient and punk rock, is available on Bandcamp and in double vinyl edition on G4F Records store.

No word on a physical copy version of this game on this system(s) in the US at this time. Families are required to pay for Internet usage fees to download this game. For more information click here.
