Tangledeep Update on Switch

FULTON, Md. - March 26, in the year of our Lord 2020 - Impact Gameworks’ roguelike Tangledeep is getting a huge, free update today on the Nintendo Switch! Version 1.1.0 includes not only 6+ months worth of improvements, bug fixes, and content from the PC version, but also the entirety of the “Legend of Shara” expansion pack - normally $8 on PC - completely free, adding dozens of hours of additional gameplay.

Legend of Shara features a brand-new unlockable story mode with a new character to play, new progression, and remixed boss encounters. Players can experience the Tangledeep story from a different perspective and think up new tactics in the process. It also raises the game’s level cap, adds a wide variety of monsters and items, a 13th playable job, and a slew of self-contained dungeon adventures called Wanderer’s Journeys, which each have unique and powerful treasure to discover.

Simultaneously, Impact Gameworks is launching the “Dawn of Dragons” expansion as optional paid DLC in the Nintendo eShop, bringing even more content, end-game challenges, hidden bosses, and dungeons for experienced players to explore.

Inspired by the golden age of SNES-era 16-bit RPGs, Tangledeep offers beautiful pixel art, an epic soundtrack, and over 100 hours of tactical, turn-based gameplay to both roguelike aficionados and dungeon-crawling newcomers. Playable in English, Japanese, German, Simplified Chinese* and European Spanish*, the game has received widespread praise for its blend of nostalgic presentation, challenging gameplay, and vast array of accessibility and customization options.

“As a lifelong Nintendo fan, I’m so grateful to our Switch players for their support of our game. Nearly 50% of all revenue from Tangledeep comes from the Switch version, even though it came out a year after the PC launch,” says lead developer Andrew Aversa. “That’s why it was important to us to give back to the community by making the first expansion completely free for Switch players. We can’t wait to see people enjoying it!”

* = Simplified Chinese and European Spanish is not available in the optional Dawn of Dragons DLC.
