Wanderer PSVR Update
September 20, in the year of our Lord 2021 -- After
a surprise reveal earlier this year, much-hyped game Wanderer and
the team behind it, collaborating studios M Theory and Oddboy, have
been a bit quiet over the last few months regarding the game’s
upcoming release. The virtual reality time travel adventure game,
originally pegged for release in Q3 of 2021, has experienced some
setbacks and the release is now delayed to later in the year.
“The last year has been a pretty tricky one. Navigating Covid-19 and
its effects while maintaining a healthy and productive environment
and developing a unique game for VR has meant we’re running a bit
behind on our schedule,” says their official announcement.
Knowing this news may come as a blow to their growing fanbase
they’ve cushioned it with the release of exciting in-game footage
that showcases an extended play-by-play on one of its key characters
– Samuel the Watch.
The Watch is the companion to the game’s lead character, Asher
Neumann, and is integral to your journey through the adventure and
in solving any puzzles you encounter. Part One of two video reveals
takes a deep dive into the features of the watch and shows just how
vital its role is in solving Wanderer’s time travel mysteries.
There’s more good news to counter the bad. M Theory and Oddboy have
also teamed up with publisher Perp Games to bring a Wanderer
PlayStation VR physical edition to retail. The physical version will
include the game and an exclusive digital version of the amazingly
detailed artbook.
“It’s been awesome to get this partnership with Perp off the ground.
It extends our audience and is a great keepsake for fans - perhaps
even one of the last first gen PSVR games available as a physical
edition. The team at Perp have been wonderful to work with and we
can’t wait to get our hands on the final box!” says Sam Ramlu,
Executive Producer at Wanderer.
“Probably the best looking PSVR game we have had the privilege to
play, Wanderer is an incredibly detailed and extremely
well-thought-out puzzle adventure game. It’s a pleasure to be
publishing the physical retail edition,” said Rob Edwards, Managing
Director at Perp Games. “For anyone who’s ever wanted to ‘be there’:
on stage at Woodstock, part of the moon landings, or with Nikola
Tesla in the early 20th century, Wanderer is a must-have game for
history and adventure game buffs alike.”
