Athena Crisis Releases
Family Friendly Gaming News
San Francisco, September 23, in the year of our Lord 2024
– Null Games, the developer-friendly indie publisher of modern retro
games, proudly announces the official launch of Athena Crisis, a
modern retro turn-based strategy game that places you in command of
dozens of unique units, battling across multiple environments.
Developed by Nakazawa Tech, Athena Crisis merges classic gameplay
with innovative mechanics in a new experience built for fans of
Advance Wars, Fire Emblem and XCOM. Buy once, play just about
anywhere as purchasing on PC unlocks the ability to play on Windows,
Mac, Steam Deck, iOS, and Android with automatic syncing for game
states across each platform.
Alongside a gripping single-player campaign, the game features
ranked and casual online multiplayer modes with up to seven players
at once. With its robust map and campaign editor, Athena Crisis
offers virtually endless replayability. Players can craft and share
their own maps, puzzles, and full campaigns, contributing to an
ever-growing repository of user-generated content.
"I became a huge fan of the Advance Wars series after playing the
original game as a teenager when it came out. I wanted to bring back
memories of the unforgettable feeling of trying to solve complex
challenges while enjoying a beautiful pixel art game with great
music" said Christoph Nakazawa, founder of Nakazawa Tech. "Athena
Crisis is a faster and modern interpretation of the formula with its
seamless multiplayer and multi-platform approach. We've been working
in the open with the community to make the game as good as possible
for our full release – and we are excited to keep improving the game
and continue building the world of Athena Crisis in the future."
