Card-en-Ciel 2nd Content Update

Family Friendly Gaming News

Chiba, Japan, December 24, in the year of our Lord 2024 — Today, INTI CREATES has released the second major content update for their deckbuilding roguelite JRPG Card-en-Ciel. Ver. 1.2.0 brings a new gameplay mode, Challenge Battles, and the game-changing Parallel Card system, giving players more options than ever.

The substantial update also includes new quality-of-life features, such as selectable Wild Card presets and accessibility options to reduce dexterity gameplay. Owners of Card-en-Ciel should be on the lookout for the new version when it becomes available on their chosen platform today.

Card-en-Ciel’s new Challenge Battle mode
Version 1.2.0 of Card-en-Ciel brings with it a brand new gameplay mode: Challenge Battles. In each of these battles, you'll have to complete the challenge using only the cards and Muses provided to you at the start. Your deck will always be in the same order, so there is no randomness here!

These puzzles will test your knowledge and skills to the limit. But don’t worry, you’ll be able to retry the challenge as often as you need. If you get stuck, you can ask Ancie for helpful hints, no strings attached. Each Challenge Battle you clear will unlock one "Parallel Card" for use.

New system: Parallel Cards
A Parallel Card is a new version of an existing card that you can enable before you venture into dungeons. These Parallel Cards will replace the original when you receive them in a dungeon or battle rewards, making for new experiences and strategies.

You can always return a Parallel Card to normal from the base menu, so enable or disable them as you see fit. Find your favorites to customize the game to your playstyle, or pick and choose the ones you need to help get a new high score!

Quality of Life improvements
New quality of life features have been added in version 1.2.0, including some frequently requested options. Some highlights:
・You can now save and load Wild Card presets.
・Accessibility options have been added, including auto-success on Action mini-games.
・Unobtained cards will now appear with a special mark. (This mark will appear after clearing the main story.)

About Card-en-Ciel
Card-en-Ciel is a card-battling, roguelite RPG featuring over 300 unique cards and 50 vocal songs.
Players take control of Neon, a private detective who specializes in solving cases that take place in the virtual net. He must restore order to an in-development game that is under attack by countless characters leaking from other games across history.
Dive into virtual dungeons where each victory earn new cards to add to your deck, strengthen those cards, then take on the powerful protagonists of the invading games. Each card brings a new synergy to your deck, creating combos with each other and the special Muse cards, whose songs add new passive abilities that last for the entire battle.
