Sofia in Exchange for Lies Announced

December 7, in the year of our Lord 2024 -- MUTAN Corporation (Tokyo, CEO: Hiroyuki Watanabe) and Story Note Inc. (Tokyo, CEO: Jin Fujisawa) are pleased to announce the release of a new jointly developed mystery adventure game, "Sofia in Exchange for Lies," on December 7, 2024. At the same time, the company has begun releasing various information including an initial trailer and a Steam store page.

The game is scheduled to be released in the spring of 2025.

Game Summary

"I killed him, but it wasn’t really me..."

Sofia, a girl with multiple personalities, is arrested as a suspect in the murder of a presidential candidate.

Philip, a psychiatrist, is assigned to interrogate her after she has closed her mind. However, his remote location limits his investigative options.

Deduce the words that hold the key to Sophia's memories and find the right questions to ask her by inputting search keywords.

Open the girl's mind through a series of interactions with the surveillance cameras to uncover the truth of the case and the secrets of her comatose past.

Why did the girl murder the presidential candidate?

This is an immersive, multi-ending mystery visual novel-style adventure game that unravels the thoughts of the five personalities that lie dormant inside her, and gets to the bottom of the case.

Sofia heart rate increases dramatically as she asks questions to uncover the secrets hidden within her personality.

If her heart rate rises too much, she transitions into another personality.

Those who look into her room may catch her attention, prompting her to speak to them.

Character Introduction

The characters are designed by manga artist and illustrator Hiro Kiyohara.

The exquisite facial expressions of the multiple personalities drawn by Kiyohara will be reflected in the 3D models.

Four personalities with secrets

Four personalities were born from Sofia's trauma. In order to talk to these closed-minded girls, it is necessary to know the comatose past that each of them holds.

• Isabella.

Isabella is an unfailingly cheerful personality. She is willing to answer questions, but sometimes she responds with exaggerated reactions, as if hiding something.

• Amy.

Amy is a young and free-spirited personality. She often gets tired of asking questions and tries to go to sleep. She seems to have a secret that she only tells her friends.

• Olivia.

Olivia is a mature personality. She dislikes socializing and has an indifferent attitude toward Philip, but sometimes shows glimpses of a caring, older sisterly side.

• Florence.

Florence is a timid and skittish personality. Florence is intelligent and polite, but she is always looking at other people's faces oddly, and answers questions as if she is a strange.

The girl's lines will be fully voiced. (Japanese only)
