Square Enix Summer Game Announcements

LOS ANGELES (June 18, in the year of our Lord 2024) – During today’s Nintendo Direct broadcast, SQUARE ENIX® announced several new games and provided exciting updates for various titles, including a Nov. 14 release date for its upcoming DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake. SQUARE ENIX also teased the 2025 launch of DRAGON QUEST I & II HD-2D Remake, offering fans two classic turn-based RPG adventures to embark on.

Additionally, it was announced that Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven, a full HD remake of the beloved title, is coming to consoles and PC on Oct. 24. And finally, the creator of FINAL FANTASY, Hironobu Sakaguchi, returns to bring an enhanced version of the original RPG story FANTASIAN to consoles and PC with FANTASIAN Neo Dimension, launching this winter.

DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake
The Legacy Begins. DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake is a stunning reimagining of the beloved masterpiece and narrative beginning to The Erdrick Trilogy. Featuring vibrant HD-2D graphics, new and modernized features, and a refined narrative, players are invited to set out on an epic fantasy adventure to save the world from a dark evil.

Rebuilt for modern audiences, DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake gives existing fans the chance to re-experience a beloved RPG experience and its expanded offerings like never before, while also being a perfect starting point for newcomers to discover one of the most influential RPG franchises in gaming history. Pre-orders are now available for the standard physical or digital edition, as well as the DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake Collector’s Edition. Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven
Romancing SaGa 2, the hit RPG that sold more than 1 million copies upon its 1993 release in Japan, will return on Oct. 24 as the full HD remake Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven. Developed by the team behind Trials of Mana, this ground-up remake and standalone story will feature modern visuals, reworked strategic gameplay and various other enhancements that will delight longtime SaGa fans and newcomers alike. In anticipation of the game’s release this fall, pre-orders are available today across all available platforms*.

In Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven, players will embark on a multi-generation adventure to protect and expand their empire. After the player’s homeland is attacked by one of the legendary Seven Heroes, a branching story of vengeance and redemption will unfold where the player must fight to protect everything they hold dear. With the free-form scenario system the SaGa franchise is known for, the player’s choices will impact how the story develops, including who inherits the imperial throne with each successive generation.

FANTASIAN Neo Dimension
The father of FINAL FANTASY, Hironobu Sakaguchi, and renowned composer Nobuo Uematsu return to deliver an original RPG story. Experience an enhanced version of FANTASIAN, initially released for Apple Arcade in 2021, with brand-new features, including English and Japanese voiceovers and an additional difficulty option. In FANTASIAN Neo Dimension, assume the role of Leo, as he journeys to recover his memories and solve the mystery of a strange mechanical infection destroying his world.
