Family Friendly Gaming News
Prague, Czech Republic – January 21, in the year of our Lord
2025 - Attention, soldiers! Best Way and Fulqrum Publishing
are delighted to announce that they have returned to their beloved
title Soldiers: Heroes of World War II, the first installment of
what would later become the critically-acclaimed Men of War series,
which will be receiving an all-new update, over 20 years after the
game’s original release.
Players can take control of American, British, Soviet, or German
forces to fight in battles set in World War II. While Soldiers:
Heroes of World War II is primarily a strategy game, the player can
also directly control their forces with a keyboard and mouse as
well.
This new update brings many quality-of-life changes, with many new
additions bringing this beloved game from the past into the present
day. Such changes include the ability to launch the game naturally
on Windows 10, the introduction of Steam achievements and stats
support, and Steam workshop support for modding. The game’s
multiplayer has also been ported over to Steam, as the old
networking and lobby libraries have been closed.
The game has also undergone a series of graphical improvements,
including introducing 4K support and widescreen monitor support,
upgrading rendering from DirectX 8 to DirectX 9, and fixing the
aspect ratios in videos, mission intros, loading screens, etc.
