Mario Tennis Ultra Smash

Mario Tennis Ultra Smash

I am thankful that Family Friendly Gaming rented a copy of Mario Tennis Ultra Smash on the Wii U. This home console tennis game has more of an arcade feel to it. There is a more traditional tennis mode in Mario Tennis Ultra Smash, however it still has a few power ups. The modes in Mario Tennis Ultra Smash are Mega Battle, Mega Ball Rally, Knockout Challenge amiibo, Classic Tennis, and Online. There is also a place to see how many of the twenty-five achievements you have unlocked. There are sixteen characters in Mario Tennis Ultra Smash. Five of them are unlockable. Which means you will have to play a certain number of specific kinds of matches and then pay coins to earn the secret/hidden characters.

The music in Mario Tennis Ultra Smash is nice. The graphics are good, and this is a fun little tennis game. In my opinion Mario Tennis Ultra Smash is worth twenty dollars at most. Intelligent gamers and families will rent Mario Tennis Ultra Smash before attempting to buy it. As I write this preview, Mario Tennis Ultra Smash is way overpriced for the limited amount of content that is included. Mario Tennis Ultra Smash will come down in price. Be patient and you will feel a lot better about a purchase. I hope to have a review ready for issue #103 of the always amazing Family Friendly Gaming magazine.
