Miracles from Heaven
Paul and I were recently treated to an
early screening of Miracles from Heaven. This Affirm Films movie is
about a families struggle with a rare stomach disease. One of the three
daughters of the Beam family in Texas gets deathly sick. They nearly
bankrupt themselves trying to find treatment and a cure. The struggles
with the medical community are shown in a realistic and valid way. The
mother even loses her faith along the way. Her husband never waivers,
even though he is overwhelmed with taking care of paying all the bills,
maxing out credit cards, and raising the two healthy daughters while the
mother is away in Boston for treatments. Some people in the church are
shown as being very unkind to the mother blaming her or her husband of
sinning in some way.
We were provided a T-shirt, a pen, a survey, a bag, and some
advertisement materials. I had seen a preview for Miracles from Heaven
before going to the screener. All I knew about the movie was a little
girl was sick, fell from a tree, and was miraculously healed. I spent
most of the time with this tear jerker movie waiting for the fall from
the tree. Which happened near the end. I was very curious to hear about
how the family got past the financial burden from all the medical bills.
Maybe the movie will help them out financially. I really hope they are
compensated from this movie in some way, shape, or form. Miracles from
Heaven comes out in theaters in Easter of the year of our Lord 2016.
This movie is based on a real story.
Parts of Miracles from Heaven are very personal for Paul and I. We had a
sick child that it took them until he was four years old to finally
figure out he was getting migraines. Our other child has had medical
issues since birth. So we know quite well it is better to trust in God,
than any man made medicine. Miracles from Heaven shows the depths many
parents will go to - to save their children. The mother in Miracles from
Heaven is played by Jennifer Garner and she does an amazing jobs
exhibiting the emotions. The biggest take away from Miracles from Heaven
is there are miracles all around us. At the end of the movie we get to
see the real family, which is always a treat.
