Pokken Tournament

Pokken Tournament

My mind is split and nearly undecided on Pokken Tournament. This Wii U fighting game has only fourteen different Pokemon in it. One of them is unlockable. There are fifteen total characters in Pokken Tournament since Pikachu has a mask on to make a second version of him (with a different skill set). Why was that done instead of another Pokemon? Pokken Tournament feels like a Godzilla fighting game since these giant monsters are battling it out. There is plenty of violence in this home console video game that has detailed graphics. Tons of special moves and all kinds of visual effects while we fight it out in these small areas. Fighting wise Pokken Tournament feels pretty plain.

I like how mega evolution was upgraded to Burst Mode in Pokken Tournament. This is great to see the religious belief of evolution not being pushed by this game. I learned that Pokken Tournament allows grabs to go right through blocks. Phase Shfiting in Pokken Tournament is interesting. We move from the 3D movement to a 2D plane lined up with our opponent. Most of the time doing that was just an annoyance. Some characters are hard to win with, and others are really easy. Players must grind with the hard to win characters, and breeze through the game with the easy ones. Garchomp is ridiculously over powered in Pokken Tournament. Especially when he dives under ground and goes all sand shark on his opponent.

I expect to have a review of Pokken Tournament in an upcoming issue of the Family Friendly Gaming e-magazine. Like issue 111. I do not think it will make issue 110. Shadow MewTwo is a tough boss to beat. I wish there were more Pokemon in Pokken Tournament. There is something in Pokken Tournament that should have been left out in my opinion. What is this content? The enticement to lust. Nintendo has this propaganda image of being squeaky clean. Reality of some of the games they release does not match that image. In my opinion Pokken Tournament is worth around twenty dollars at most.
