THQ has been expanding their female video game section quite nicely. Hello Kitty has been a personal favorite of mine since I was a little girl. Now as a wife, and mother (editor: of two boys) I can remember those days of being a little girl with games like Hello Kitty Happy Party Pals. Making other people happy, serving them, and making preparations for parties are all included on this Gameboy Advance video game. THQ did not stop there as they included some fun little mini games. The Gameboy Advance still has life in it with titles like this one.
The colors used in Hello Kitty Happy Party Pals are very bright and colorful. On top of that a lot of the softer colors are used. Girls will appreciate these colors and feel their warmth. The details are better than I expected, and the artwork is classic Hello Kitty. Wholesome images are used properly. Fans of this franchise should take a definite interest in Hello Kitty Happy Party Pals. I saw no offensive images.
The sounds found within Hello Kitty Happy Party Pals are very pleasant. I found the music to be soothing, but not to the point of putting me to sleep. I could not find any offensive sounds while playing this GBA video game.
The mini games found within Hello Kitty Happy Party Pals are clones of well known franchises (i.e. Bust-a-move). These games are also some of the more popular among the fairer sex. Girls will find a lot of replay in them, but have much more fun creating parties. In some ways Hello Kitty Happy Party Pals progresses like a role playing game. The player gets more games as they progress through each section of the main game.
THQ has been one of my favorite developers for female games for some time now. Hello Kitty Happy Party Pals controls perfectly, and shows THQ puts resources into getting female games right. There is an intelligent design to the levels. My only complaint about this game is walking through doors is not always easy. This is a weird glitch that I found a way around but present nonetheless.
Serving others, increasing
their joy, and working hard at presentation are wonderful lessons that
Hello Kitty Happy Party Pals teaches. I am recommending this game, and
would love to play some sequels.
