System Flaw
SCORE: 73
Storm City Games has caught the eye of Family Friendly Gaming. This is the second product of theirs we are reviewing, and we are noticing a pattern. System Flaw is a fresh, innovative, and interesting idea that the WMG would have never thought of. This hand held game is for the Nintendo DSi only. System Flaw uses the outer camera which is the main reason is it only works on that system.
When the WMG first started playing System Flaw the graphics seemed to be a problem. The reason was the WMG was sitting in the bathroom. The graphics are from the Nintendo DSi, so it was in essence the floor. Once this reviewer took the game elsewhere the beauty of System Flaw stuck out. The little creatures can only be seen by the player. They must be shot before they reach you.
The shooting sounds in System Flaw remind the WMG of the old classic Asteroid. The 360 degree play field also fits that mold. System Flaw has a storyline that could have been fleshed out a little better. The music that greets the player matches this game amazingly well.
System Flaw contains a story mode, and an arcade mode. There are some extras (like the Flawpedia), however the WMG would have liked to have seen more. There are no multiplayer modes in System Flaw, not sure how they could be done though. If you are looking for an innovative shooter, then System Flaw is for you.
The gameplay in System Flaw is really good. Move the Nintendo DSi around to line up the creatures, and shoot them. There is a radar on the screen so the player always knows from where the creatures are coming. It would have been nice to be able to mode around and avoid some that way, but this is still a fun game.
Okay, you are shooting creatures that only you can see. The WMG could
go so many different directions with that – ranging from mental illness
to saving the planet. This is one instance where the WMG is going to let
you the reader decide for yourself. System Flaw gets points for being so
innovative, different, and fresh. The WMG would like to see a sequel to
this game.
