Catalyst for Wii Remote with Motionplus
SCORE: 73
Catalyst for Wii Remote with Motionplus is an interesting peripheral.
This little piece of fabric, thread, and other materials takes the place
of the covering sleeves for the Wii Remote. I found this unit can be
used with the Motionplus add on controller or without it. Catalyst for
Wii Remote with Motionplus is sturdy enough to not get in the players
way. Which is a good thing because that was the first thing I looked for
when I started reviewing it.
The Catalyst for Wii Remote with Motionplus comes in various colors.
Family Friendly Gaming was given a pink and a gray one. We females will
go for the pink, and gray reminds me of the clouds on a rainy day.
Before you completely freak out, there are two more colors - red and
black. Sorry to all my friends of blue and purple. Maybe CM4 will take
care of ya'll in the future. The holes all over the sides allow the unit
to breath, however they do not go completely through. The stitching is
intense, and reminded me of Frankenstein. I mean that in the nicest way
possible, but will probably get in trouble for it.
I like the feel of the Catalyst for Wii Remote with Motionplus. It has
such a neat texture to it. The internal black material really works for
this unit. The outer fabric feels the same no matter what the color. I
had no problems with the controller flying out of my hand while it was
encased in the Catalyst for Wii Remote with Motionplus. Which I find
most puzzling since it has a bit of a slick feel to it.
I can see the Catalyst for Wii Remote with Motionplus lasting for quite
a long time. This is one sturdy little unit. The strength of it is
evident the first time you run across it. The one issue I have with the
Catalyst for Wii Remote with Motionplus is the zipper. The zipper is
tough. This leads me to a concern about what to do if the zipper winds
up breaking. I have known zippers on children's clothing to break.
Batteries have to be changed, and rechargable ones have to be removed.
So that zipper becomes a key component to the usage of the Catalyst for
Wii Remote with Motionplus. We have run into no problems thus far.
How useful is the Catalyst for Wii Remote with Motionplus? This is one
question I absolutely hate to have to answer. Wii Remotes come with
sleeves, so there is not a definite need for the Catalyst for Wii Remote
with Motionplus in my opinion. With that said, the Catalyst for Wii
Remote with Motionplus is much higher quality than the default sleeves.
The final issue is price. One Catalyst for Wii Remote with Motionplus
cost twenty dollars on their website, and two cost thirty dollars
(editor: at the time the review was written). That is up there in price.
The Catalyst for Wii Remote with Motionplus protects your Wii Remote
from damages if you do not have something else on it. The Catalyst for
Wii Remote with Motionplus is a functional unit. I like the idea behind
the Catalyst for Wii Remote with Motionplus, as well as many of the
other products CM4 are selling. I can see a future for this, and there
are a lot of hardcore gamers who like to distinguish their gaming
experience. I see them eating this up.
