Greg Hastings Paintball 2
SCORE: 83
When I was in the Air Force I would go to a local place and play some paintball. There is a certain rush to hunting other humans without actually causing anyone any harm. The paintballs only hurt if it is too cold, and the balls do not explode. The only other case I remember of pain is when someone would cheat and crank up the pressure on their gun. So if you are worried about being hurt, and have had an interest in paint ball, Majesco Entertainment has you covered with Greg Hastings Paintball 2. They were gracious enough to provide Family Friendly Gaming a reviewable copy on the Xbox 360.
The visuals in Greg Hastings Paintball 2 impressed me. The paintballs explode in a realistic manner, and the animation of the characters is decent. I noticed the bags would ripple in a realistic manner as they were hit. Watching balls fly around from behind cover reminded me of when I used to play paintball. The violence in Greg Hastings Paintball 2 did not bother me. You will have to determine for your family if paintball is appropriate or not.
The rockish sounds in Greg Hastings Paintball 2 set the tempo for this game. I noticed a wide array of helpful information from Greg Hastings, and other people in this game. With that said, there is a little bit of a dark side to Greg Hastings Paintball 2. Certain characters will say things I do not want my children to say or hear. So be aware this is present. It is not all the time, and the dialogue is on the lower side of the volume.
There are 62 fields in Greg Hastings Paintball 2, seven different online modes, and an amazing amount of unlockable characters. Oh I almost forgot, there are also an impressive array of paintball guns. Technically there are more than guns with things like grenades, and rocket launchers. If you enjoy paintball, or are looking for a safe alternative to the first person shooter genre, then you will find your money's worth in Greg Hastings Paintball 2.
It took me some tries to understand the game play in Greg Hastings Paintball 2. For those wondering, yes I did take the tutorial. The speed of Greg Hastings Paintball 2 is what threw me. Matches can go extremely fast. The AI in Greg Hastings Paintball 2 is interesting. At times my team would run off and take out the other team. Then there were times they would all get shot, and I was stuck alone fighting off the entire other team. Greg Hastings Paintball 2 lets players rush in, take it slow, or sit back to ambush. There are a lot of different controls in Greg Hastings Paintball 2. My favorite was sliding, which is a nice alternative to jumping.
I see Greg Hastings Paintball 2 as a good alternative to the adult
only first person shooters. I am impressed with how much educational
information there is in Greg Hastings Paintball 2 as well. It is all
based around the history of paintball, but I had no idea how long this
game has been around. I would like to see sequels to Greg Hastings
Paintball 2, especially if the language is cleaned up.
