Paper Airplane Chase
SCORE: 69
Paper Airplane Chase has one of the best premises the WMG has ever heard. Players get to guide paper airplanes through the gauntlet of areas. The WMG envisioned getting to guide a paper airplane between trees, and down towards a goal or just getting to sail for long periods of time. Unfortunately Paper Airplane Chase has the player going from top to bottom and trying to avoid all of these near transparent obstacles. Hit one, and your turn is over. This turned into one of the most frustrating Nintendo DSi games the WMG has ever had the fortune of getting to play.
Paper Airplane Chase is lacking in the visuals quite a bit. Never mind what the WMG was expecting from this title. Compare it to other Nintendo DSi games, and Paper Airplane Chase is bland beyond belief. Even Petra would have a problem with this downloadable hand held video game. The background and obstacles could have used some more attention in this reviewers opinion.
The music in Paper Airplane Chase is okay. It works with the theme of this game. Since the WMG crashed so often, that was the one special effect sound that almost became the music. The sounds used for winning are really cool, especially after such effort to reach that point in this game. The WMG found no offensive language in Paper Airplane Chase.
There is an addictive quality to Paper Airplane Chase. The WMG wanted to play over and over again. The reason was this gamer wanted to actually complete the first level. Every single level is like that, and even the most hard core game will get sick and tired of such a major effort. Especially after you read the next paragraph. Multi-player modes are included for those that like to torture one another with this game.
When the airplanes are vertical they will fly down towards the goal. As they are leveled out they will decrease in speed. This could have been awesome, however making some turns are nearly impossible. That means the player must get everything perfect, and there is but one way to do it. Paper Airplane Chase is not forgiving.
Families can know that
Paper Airplane Chase is safe for the entire family. It is also a cheaper
game than many on store shelves. An internet connection is needed to
download this game, as well as a credit card, or Wii DSi points card.
Paper Airplane Chase has a lot of potential as a franchise, sadly this
game did not reach that potential.
