Country Dance 2
SCORE: 79
I have listened to country music since I
was a little girl. I have enjoyed this genre for a long time. My hubby
is from the country, so I guess that makes him a country boy. A country
boy who excelled at video games. They had electricity after all. So when
I heard Country Dance 2 had come in, I knew I had to review it. I am not
the biggest fan of dancing games out there, but I
don't mind doing a little boot skooting.
The dancers in Country Dance 2 look like something you would find at a
country western club. Cowboy hats, boots, jeans, and the works. Some of
the women in Country Dance 2 are wearing revealing tops. Most of the
dance moves are okay, but there are some sexualized ones. Country Dance
2 has this wild special effect on the clothing of the characters. It has
to be seen to be believed.
There are thirty country hits in Country Dance 2. These range across a
variety of country artists. I found a plethora of songs in Country Dance
2 that I enjoyed. The ESRB denoted some lyrical issues with this Wii
game. They are completely right. There is a wide array of things said in
the songs. There are songs in Country Dance 2 that I would not expose my
own children to. This ranges from going to kill someone to living in
sin.
The thirty songs in Country Dance 2 will keep country loving families
busy for a few weeks at the very least. There are numerous modes in
Country Dance 2, and up to four family members can enjoy this game at
the same time. I would recommend your family have a room big enough so
people are not whacking one another.
The dance moves in Country Dance 2 are difficult to learn at first. I am
so glad this was not on Kinect. I am not able to do some of those hip
movements. The foot work can also be challenging. Thankfully we are only
graded on the Wii Remote in our right hands. I got some exercise with
Country Dance 2. I have played other dance games that had me gasping.
Country Dance 2 is easier than many others on the market.
I recognized some of the dance moves in Country Dance 2 as from country
line dances. In some ways Country Dance 2 can be used as a tool to learn
some country dance moves. My two concerns with this Wii game is the
sexual references, and the lyric issues. Maybe a sequel will clean some
of it up. And maybe bring in Toby Keith. How Do You Like Me Now would
fit in this franchise perfectly.
