Family Fest Presents Movie Games
SCORE: 57
A lot of people think reviewing video games is this glamorous job where you get to spend hours playing the best games out there. What people on the other side of the fence do not see is we have to play a lot of the bad games too. At times we only torture ourselves by purchasing certain games. The only glimmer of hope I have is that the over one millions readers will learn from my mistake, and avoid this game. Family Fest Presents Movie Games is a party game with two mini games. These are neither original, or the best executed. This Wii game has major themes (or areas). These themes are spy, alien, pirate, Inca temple and haunted. The Inca temple is Indiana Jones themed, and the rest should speak for themselves.
The first thing I noticed about the visuals in Family Fest Presents Movie Games is the odd little dances the characters are doing all the time. These gyrations were just strange, and did not fit this game at all. I wonder if Ubisoft was trying to be humorous. If so, it did not connect with this reviewer. Too many of the mini games were dark, and honestly depressing. The whole haunted house was overflowing with ghosts. The details are not that great in Family Fest Presents Movie Games either.
I was not into the music in Family Fest Presents Movie Games either. Some of it was creepy, while other tracks were campy. I really think humor was the goal, but again it fell flat. The aliens, ghosts, and other such characters drained me, and I wanted it to just stop. This Wii game would get me interested in an upcoming level only to disappoint with a lackluster mini game.
Four family members can play Family Fest Presents Movie Games if you can convince them to play this game. The majority of the comments from others as I played Family Fest Presents Movie Games were negative. Mini games were too short, and few wanted to replay them. I purchased Family Fest Presents Movie Games for a very low price, and feel I wasted my money on it.
The mini games range from simple puzzles to dance offs, to shooter. Thankfully the shooter has players putting the bad guys to sleep. I did not have fun with any of them, and some were substandard clones of other games. The Wii is packed with mini game compilations, and party games. Family Fest Presents Movie Games is in a big pond, and having only twenty mini games hurts it.
I hope there are no sequels to Family Fest Presents Movie Games anytime
soon. Not everything is a great hit, and some ideas need to marinate a
little longer. Families need to be aware of the violence, gyrations, and
spiritual themes in this game.
