Hills of Glory WWII
SCORE: 62
Bulkypix is showing that a publisher on
the iPhone/iPod Touch can be extremely successful. Hills of Glory WWII
is a tower defense game like no other. Well that is not entirely true.
Babel Rising is similar. The player has a bunker, and a lot of enemy
soldiers are coming their way. They have to shoot the enemies as they
come towards the bunker. What makes Hills of Glory WWII so interesting
is you can upgrade your weapons, and bring in different troops to assist
with this endeavor.
The visuals contained within Hills of Glory WWII is going to raise
eyebrows in the family friendly realm. The enemy soldiers get shot,
burned, blown up, and more. There is some gore in this game. Shooting
them once on lower levels will have some of their clothing fall off.
When soldiers die certain ways there will be a cross that appears where
they fell. I really liked that special effect.
You may not be able to smell the napalm in the morning with Hills of
Glory WWII, but you can hear it burn. The music in Hills of Glory WWII
is as majestic as some of the well known military movies. The gun shots
sound realistic - at least to me. The characters do make sounds when
they die, but it is not over done. I enjoyed the music because it is
very energetic. It got me pumped up to protect my bunker.
The coolest thing about Hills of Glory WWII is earning money, and then
deciding how to use it. I could use my money to upgrade my team,
purchase new member, and purchase new levels. The price of Hills of
Glory WWII is insanely low in my opinion. You will get your moneys worth
out of Hills of Glory WWII. Family Friendly Gaming was provided a

The biggest knock against tower defense games is spending all this time
on a level just to come up short, and to receive nothing from it. Hills
of Glory WWII fixes this problem. If you lose a level you still earn
money. This can be used to upgrade characters. All of the different
characters, and upgrades adds some complexity to how this game can be
played. I must admit I had some fun playing Hills of Glory WWII. Killing
all those little guys got old, but seeing the new weapons, and
characters was pretty cool.
I don't know if any war based video game can ever get a passing score in
the family friendly factor. I do not see anything in Hills of Glory WWII
that make it safe for families. I learned to protect my guys by getting
the other ones first. I also learned to use every single weapon in my
arsenal to clear the battle field. In the real world soldiers have
families, and many come back from war wounded. My heart goes out to
them.
