Lost in Blue 3
SCORE: 69
The Lost in Blue franchise has interested me for a long time. I finally remembered to put Lost in Blue 3 on our purchase list, and when the funds came in - purchased it. This game (editor: and franchise) is all about survival. You get washed up on a beach, and must survive. Of course finding a companion along the way is a wonderful help. Otherwise the player may get lonely. Which could be a good thing, because in times of loneliness in my life I turned to God and it went away.
I was expecting the violent aspect of Lost in Blue 3. I was not expecting the female attire of so little clothing. The graphics are pretty standard in Lost in Blue 3. Beaches, jungles, the ocean and more look okay in this Nintendo DS game. There are a lot of recycled graphics in Lost in Blue 3 which can make where you are confusing. Since certain areas look exactly like others I got turned around very easily.
I can understand that getting lost on a deserted island can be stressful. But certain characters can give major attitudes about things. The menu choices for talking are also limited. The music is okay in Lost in Blue 3. It certainly does fit the theme of this game.
There are numerous things to find, and make. There are also a lot of characters to interact with. Which is strange with the whole deserted island concept. It is like hey look at all these people lost on this island. Lost in Blue 3 includes numerous endings, meaning there is more than one way off this island.
The best way I can describe Lost in Blue 3 is sluggish. It can take forever to get progress in this game due to needing food, water, and rest. I was constantly going to get a drink, cooking, collecting firewood, and sleeping. I wish Lost in Blue 3 had a better flow, and also was more helpful with things like where the watering hole was. I did not have fun playing this DS game.
On a high level
there are some wonderful concepts in Lost in Blue 3. I like the idea of
having to think about how to survive in hostile environment. There is
single card, and multi-card download play for two to four players. I
also wish there was a better feel for how much food would feed the
characters because I would waste food, or it would go bad on me. I would
still like to see sequels to Lost in Blue 3 in the near future.
