Rayman 3D
SCORE: 84
I have really missed Rayman. I miss the
fun, action adventure games where exploration is encouraged. I am very
pleased to see Ubisoft brought him back in Rayman 3D. This hand held
title exhibits what can be done on this little machine. Sometimes it is
nice to return to the roots of a franchise. Rayman starts out in prison.
Globox is captured, but brings him a lum. They grant him better skills,
and Rayman can shoot his way out of the cell. Thus begins the journey to
save the world, and stop the pirates.
I sat for a long time trying to think of words to describe the 3D
effects in Rayman 3D. They are absolutely amazing. I enjoyed moving
around the world, and seeing the depth of this game. This effect works
best while sliding down tunnels in my opinion. Rayman 3D includes
violence as the player shoots enemies. The more powerful, the more shots
that are required. This game also contains content like throwing
explosives at machines in the right spot to disable them.
The characters in Rayman 3D have a very distinctive sound. Some of them
are humorous, and others were a little annoying. Your guide is helpful
at the right times. I enjoyed the music in this game, and the stereo
effects work wonderfully. Rayman 3D includes a magical element - this is
where Rayman gets most of his powers. This Nintendo 3DS game includes
some quirky humor that some will appreciate and others will not.
For the price there is a decent amount of content in Rayman 3D. The
biggest draw is finding all the lums, and being able to play bonus
levels. We were provided a reviewable copy of Rayman 3D. I feel very
blessed to have been able to play this hand held title. One of the
things I like about Rayman 3D is it does not hound me about that
Streetpass connection (that so many other 3DS games obsess over).
The controls in Rayman 3D are fantastic. It is easy to navigate around
the worlds, and rotate the camera. The level design is amazing. I don't
mind ports from the past when they were put together this well. Rayman
3D is a fun game that I enjoyed playing. I love how this game is alive
with color, and strange characters. Having to shoot enemies got old
after awhile, but there are plenty of puzzle elements in this game as
well.
The characters in Rayman 3D have a lot of strange personalities. Rayman
has no arms or legs. Some of the characters in Rayman 3D have a new age
feel to them. I learned to look around to find as many lums as possible,
and to free those trapped by the pirates. Some of the humor in Rayman 3D
remind me of other franchises - but that is okay. It was a pleasure for
me to play and review Rayman 3D.
