Crafty Creatures

Have you ever heard that someone has a face only a mother could love? That is the first thing that came into my mind when I started to play Crafty Creatures on the iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad platforms. I do not mean that in an insulting way either. It is just how different the graphics are in Crafty Creatures.

No one told me that it was arts and crafts time on the iOS. But Crafty Creatures makes that bold statement in a way only it can. The designs of the creatures and levels has that hodge podge put together kind of feel. So do all of the menu screens. In other words the entire presentation of Crafty Creatures stands out in a crowd.

Standing out in this crowd is a good thing though. There are plenty of physics games on the iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad market. We tap objects in Crafty Creatures to allow our characters to move along. As Crafty Creatures builds through the levels we learn new tactics, and meet new characters. Like birds, and they are not very angry. In fact they are helpful to our cause.

The music in Crafty Creatures is fantastic. Being a music buff it is such a pleasure to play an app where the music is absolutely amazing. It has a whimsical feel to it that sort of fits the theme of this game. The entire presentation of Crafty Creatures makes me think of LittleBigPlanet for some reason.

The coolest thing about Crafty Creatures is the creation mode. We can create new round characters. Or we can create our very own levels. How cool is that? Yes that is another reason Crafty Creatures reminds me of LittleBigPlanet. Which is not a bad thing, since Crafty Creatures is a very family friendly hand held video game.

I hope to see more games like Crafty Creatures in the future. There are enough levels to warrant the price. Families can have hours of fun with Crafty Creatures. Creating your own levels is going to be a big selling point in my personal opinion. I wish more games added that.
