Disney Pixar Brave
SCORE: 71
It is always a treat to watch and review
any Disney Pixar product. Today is one of those days. The Blu-ray +
Blu-ray 3D + DVD + Digital Copy of Disney Pixar Brave came in. We have
been devouring this package here at Family Friendly Gaming. This is one
of the most different movies we have ever seen from Disney Pixar.
The princess Merida is being groomed for marriage. She just wants to do
what she wants to do. She wants to explore, shoot her bow, and
essentially do things she finds fun. She does not care that she has
duties and responsibilities. She cares more about her own selfish
desires.
Three suitors from three clans come and she becomes desperate to unravel
the process. She turns to an evil witch who gives her a spell. The evil
magical spell comes in the form of a cake. To change her destiny she
must get her mother to eat it. That is when things go horribly wrong.
Her mother is turned into a bear.
Merida has two sunrises to discover the witches meaning for how to
reverse the spell. Can she mend the damage she has created? Can she keep
her father (the bear king) from killing her mother? Did she remember to
get rid of the rest of the cake after her mother took a few small bites?
We are familiar with Disney Pixar Brave since we played the video games.
We had some concept of what to expect in this movie. Still there were
quite a few surprises we were not expecting. The storyline was different
than I was expecting. The connection to Mordu was pretty easy to see
early on.
The animation in Disney Pixar Brave is magnificent. The characters look
very realistic, and their emotions are paraded for all to see. There are
some crude moments of humor, and bare bottoms shown on multiple
occurrences. There is also some cartoon violence as characters attack
one another. In fact they seem very eager to fight even though they are
on the same side.
Disney Pixar Brave is chock full of bonuses. There is La Luna, The
Legend of Mordu, Brave Old World, Merida & Elinor, Clan Pixar, Audio
Commentary, Art Gallery, Alternate Opening, Fallen Warriors, Dirty Hairy
People, Promotional Pieces, and even more.
Disney Pixar Brave deals with a couple of interesting topics. It deals
with selfishness, obeying your parents, living for yourself, duty,
responsibility, and listening. In the end Disney Pixar Brave decides the
parents are wrong for the arranged marriage, and her parents let Merida
do what she wants. I wonder how all the people in the world who have
arranged marriages in this day and age feel about that.
