F1 2012
SCORE: 88
There are some people who do not think
race car drivers are athletes. Sure they have to sit there for lap after
lap without any breaks. Sure they have to turn the wheel at the right
time, slow down, speed up, and reach the finish line first. Bouncing
around damages the human body, and those extreme speeds can lead to
death.
F1 2012 is the most true to life F1 racing game I have ever played. This
racing game is on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. Family Friendly Gaming was
provided a copy on the Playstation 3. A VIP Pass is included so a family
member can take F1 2012 online and race against other humans.
If you are new to racing games, or want to see what F1 2012 has to offer
then start with the Young Drivers Test. This will teach you how to drive
a Formula 1 race car in F1 2012. The DRS is the most interesting
addition to this franchise. But not the only thing added to improve it.
The presentation in F1 2012 sticks out. We see what a new race car
driver would see. All of the diagnostics, crew chief, and more. Pit
stops are a real treat, even though they work incredibly fast. The
Champions Mode is sure to please the hardcore racing fan. Casuals will
enjoy a quick race, and the career mode.
F1 2012 looks beautiful. It astounds me how good this game looks. Even
in the dynamic weather which can effect your tires, and how well you
will perform on the track. The cars, people, tracks, fans, and
everything else look fantastic. Yellow flags come up when we spin out
and go off the track. Blue flags will warn us a faster car needs to
pass.
F1 2012 will punish you for bad behavior. The first time this game told
me someone was wanting to pass, and I was supposed to get out of their
way - well lets just say I said they had to earn it. We jockeyed for
position, and eventually I wound up slamming them into a wall. F1 2012
penalized me for poor sportsmanship.
The crew chief will clearly and distinctly give the player instructions
on what to do, and what is coming up. Oh and cutting corners is
something he does not like me doing. There are a variety of features in
F1 2012 that make the game easier to play. They can be turned off by the
hardcore gamers who want to control everything themselves.
