Family Tennis 3D
SCORE: 94
I ran across Family Tennis 3D recently and
asked our honored editor in chief if he could get us a copy for a
review. He happily made contact with Arc System Works and worked with
them to receive a copy. I was fortunate enough to get to borrow the
Nintendo 3DS to play Family Tennis 3D. Man this hand held game is
impressive.
Family Tennis 3D looks great, especially in full 3D. I will warn you
about one thing though. Be careful with the 3D when the game spins
around the tennis court at the beginning. That can easily make one
dizzy. The characters in Family Tennis 3D are family members at
different stages of life. We have mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, boy, girl,
aunt, and a cousin. All characters dress appropriately, and all stages
are safe for families.
Do you like the voice in Cooking Mama? If you do, then you will love the
voice in Family Tennis 3D. This Nintendo 3DS game is verbally in
Japanese. I have no clue what they are saying. I do know they are
passionate about what they are saying. Some of the things are said in
English, but they have a very thick accent. Most of it brought a smile
to my face.
Family Tennis 3D feels like tennis. I never felt like I could not come
back, or put the opponent away. Family Tennis 3D is not an easy game,
which is why I suggest families go into the options and turn easy mode
on. At least until you get used to how this tennis game plays. Then when
you are ready for a challenge, it can be turned off.
Family Tennis 3D contains eight characters who play on six courts. There
are multiple tournaments to play in, and mini games. The mini games are
Roulette Rally, Human Backboard, and Survivor. Family Tennis 3D can be
played in singles or doubles. All of that for just $6.99. That is a
exceptional price for a tennis game on the Nintendo 3DS.
The computer characters in Family Tennis 3D range in skills. They will
make mistakes, and they will capitalize on your mistakes. Family
Tennis 3D feels like tennis to me. In fact Family Tennis 3D is my
personal favorite tennis game on the Nintendo 3DS. I hope to see sequels
to this franchise in the future.
