Gnome Homes

The fantasy building/simulation games are all the rage right now. We are reviewing one of the recent ones we came across here at Family Friendly Gaming - Gnome Homes. We have gnomes that dig into the earth and build things down there. They also tame animals, grow crops and more.

The tutorial in Gnome Homes gave me fits. I understand it was showing me how to play the game, but it limited me, and frustrated me. Once I got through it, things got better. I was able to get a feel for this hand held video game. There are resources that players can easily accumulate, and others (acorns) that will speed things up.

Be careful how many acorns you use while playing Gnome Homes. Aside from the entrance fee, paying for acorns is another way this developer can make money. If you are patient for things to finish then there is no problem. If you are impatient then expect to be forking out some cash to keep things flowing freely.

The graphics in Gnome Homes are a little small, but have decent details. There are wonderful animations in Gnome Homes. I enjoyed watching a variety of things going on this underground town. There are things that happen on the surface as well for those curious.

There are plenty of different items in Gnome Homes to keep most families busy for a week or more. I would not be surprised to see updates coming in the future from Inert Soap. I appreciate the short wait time for things to be built in Gnome Homes. I have played other games where players must wait days before something finishes. Or spend that rare resource to continue playing.

Gnome Homes reminds me of A Game of Dwarves. No Gnome Homes is not in 3D. No there are not all the of things that go on in the PC game. When you boil down the digging up areas, and growing resources to increase the wealth, then you probably understand the comparison. At least I hope you understand it.
