Green Jelly

G5 Entertainment is world known for their time management and hidden object games. Every so often they try something new. Green Jelly is one of those blue moon moments. This is a physics puzzler where player launch their little green blob around obstacles to collect candy, and finally exit the level.

The biggest concern there is with Green Jelly is how does he keep his shape? I mean we stretch him three different directions, and he snaps right back into place. Like those ooze things. Green Jelly has more character than those ooze things. Green Jelly has eyes and eyebrows.

The cartoon violence in Green Jelly comes from his various ways of dying. Like that Bubsy video game back in the 16-bit era. Anyone else remember Bubsy? Green Jelly does not have as many death sequences. Expect to die on the same kinds of obstacles multiple times though.

Why is it so easy to die in Green Jelly? The guide gauge is not your friend. It shows your mean green friend sailing harmlessly over the blade, electrical trap, etc. Release your little mass of gelatin, and watch him get sliced, diced, fried, and more. Compensating, and guessing when he will go off course is what most players will wind up doing. Those that do not leave frustrated.

It is easy to get stuck in Green Jelly. Even the entertaining music will not keep impatient gamers from leaving. Green Jelly is definitely for hardcore gamers who want a mega challenge. Green Jelly is not a walk in the park. If you choose to accept this mission, and you win, then you have accomplished something indeed. Maybe even put it on your resume. And be sure to point right back to this review.

The sixty levels in Green Jelly seem light, until you find yourself stuck once you hit double digit level numbers. Then it takes precision of a "Do not Dis-assemble" robot to make it to the exit. Green Jelly stands out in the physics puzzler launcher candy eating genre.
