I AM GABRIEL
SCORE: 82
Independent films are fascinating to me.
They may not always have the same production value as what comes out of
Hollywood but they have much better morals and lessons. I AM...GABRIEL
is a fantastic example of this. I noticed a few odd things here and
there, but I tabled those to focus on the story being told.
Promise, Texas has lost all hope. A baby died during child birth, and
the drought hit the town hard. Times became tough in Promise. People
left in droves, foreclosures and repossessions dominated. A young boy
shows up, and things start to change. Miracles begin to happen and he
points them to God.
Prayer mats are brought to the forefront of conversation thanks to I
AM...GABRIEL. Personally I have always liked the way Martin Luther was
shown in that Luther movie (back in 2003) on the ground on his face
praying. With that said, I AM...GABRIEL does show a way of humbling
oneself before God. And there is nothing wrong with prayer mats. In fact
I believe they are wonderful reminders to pray.
Dean Cain and John Schneider headline I AM...GABRIEL. They bring their
star power to a fantastic film for all ages of the family. I
AM...GABRIEL can spark all kinds of different discussions. What if an
angel came down to us right now today? How would we receive him? Would
we listen, and obey? Would we debate and argue? Would we cling to the
things of the world?
I feel very blessed that Family Friendly Gaming was provided a
reviewable copy of I AM...GABRIEL. I am encouraged to see more faith
films making it to the market place. I would love to see Christian video
games given the same treatment in the coming years. But that is a
discussion for another forum.
I AM...GABRIEL contains some powerful scenes. I will not spoil them for
you. Bible scholars will immediately recognize the variety of signs in I
AM...GABRIEL. I knew certain things were coming - mainly because I was
paying attention along the way. The foreshadowing is extremely telling
you know what to look for.
I will warn you on one thing - I AM...GABRIEL will challenge you. If you
are not up to being possibly convicted then you will avoid I
AM...GABRIEL like the plague. If you are up to the challenge then you
can find hope, and encouragement in I AM...GABRIEL. The best thing about
I AM...GABRIEL is it is uplifting and edifying. Never preachy or
judgmental.
