Jetpack Joyride
SCORE: 85
Halfbrick Studios comes up with some of the most interesting apps. I played Jetpack Joyride for months. This little game is fun, and very addicting. When I heard it had come to the Playstation 3 I jumped on the opportunity of playing it for a review. Jetpack Joyride is a Minis game so it will also work on the Playstation Portable.
The button scheme used for Jetpack Joyride on the PS3 is perfect. The explosion of graphics is fantastic. I love how good Jetpack Joyride looks on this home console machine. The main character, the scientists, missiles, lasers, and more look great on the big screen. There is some cartoon violence in this game.
Barry Steakfries starts out with a machine gun jet pack. This can cause damage to the innocent scientists running away from this thief. Yes he starts this game out with stealing the jetpack. Even though there are signs telling him not to do it. He creates all kinds of havoc trying to escape the secret facility.
Jetpack Joyride is a very addicting game. There are a few reasons for this. First off we are given three goals to achieve. Achieving them allows us to level up. Competitive players want to do better each time. That means collect more coins, go farther than before, and so on.
After each run players are presented with a slot machine. Players can cash in their money and bypass pulling the slots lever. If you do pull the gambling machine like device you may get more coins, power ups, or other helpful assistance. I had better luck on the iPhone with this than the Playstation 3.
Jetpack Joyride is not a game for kids. As an adult I found many
things to like about it. I love avoiding the hazards, and earning coins
to upgrade my character, jetpack, and more. There are many hours of
replay in Jetpack Joyride. I just wish there was an end to Jetpack
Joyride. If there is an actual ending (complete escape), I have never
been able to find it.
