Jewel Master Cradle of Egypt 2
SCORE: 81
I never get tired of the Jewel Master games. I have played many of them from a variety of different publishers. Rising Star Games is treating the franchise properly. We are back to the pyramids in Jewel Master Cradle of Egypt 2. The back of the Nintendo DS case tells us: "The Cradle of Civilisation!"
I thought that was a typo on the box until I did some research on it. Jewel Master Cradle of Egypt 2 taught me something I did not previously know. So aside from being mentally engaging it taught me a new word. I told you they were treating the franchise properly. The down side is this game teaches the Egyptian religious belief on creation. It is way different than the Holy Bible.
The ESRB gets a major black eye thanks to Jewel Master Cradle of Egypt 2 though. We have this shirtless man in this hand held game. The ESRB could not seem to find any words in the English dictionary to describe that content. Things like that are important to denote. Just another reason for the millions to continue to distrust and ignore the ESRB.
There are one hundred levels in five epochs in Jewel Master Cradle of Egypt 2. There are three game modes, and some annoying mini games when we purchase buildings. Like other Jewel Master games we are collecting resources by matching three or more of a kind. We have to unlock all of the squares. When we have enough resources we can add to our civilisation.
Jewel Master Cradle of Egypt 2 can be addicting. Especially when you want to beat just one more level to get enough of a resource to purchase the next building. Each purchase improves the items found on the screen. The matching works masterfully well, and I love the tools in Jewel Master Cradle of Egypt 2.
Tools in Jewel Master Cradle of Egypt 2 are things like bombs that will clear a range of boxes. This cleans things out when we get stuck. The timer is nice and slow in Jewel Master Cradle of Egypt 2. Which gave me time to think about my moves and find something to do in the area I was working on.
Jewel Master Cradle of Egypt 2 has me thinking about possible other
areas for this franchise to branch out into. Maybe a Cradle of the
American Revolution, or Cradle of the Cherokee. Cradle of the Mayans or
Aztecs seems more plausible, but a reviewer can dream.
