Just Dance 4
SCORE: 87
A certain someone told me all about Just
Dance 4 on the Wii U, and how awesome it was at E3 2012. I am now
getting a chance to play it. And he was right. He is asking I put that
on a plaque for him. The Puppet Master Mode in Just Dance 4 is
absolutely awesome. I love picking the different kinds of dances for the
rest of the family.
Just Dance 4 on the Wii U can foster all kinds of competitiveness.
Especially on the strike a pose. Everyone thinks they deserve that star.
Ubisoft could have stopped there but they added a real cool feature in
Light Painting. In Light Painting we can draw all over the screen and
display it on the television (or not). This allows families to write
notes, draw pictures and more. Karaoke rounds out the Wii U additions.
Just Dance 4 lets families Bring Your Crew, where you can let every
player shine with four unique choreographies for each member of the
band. Families can also unlock Battle Mode, where friends dance against
each other for five rounds. The Just Sweat mode has been upgraded for
the Wii U version as well.
Just Dance 4 is the number one dance franchise for a reason. This game
has some real swagger to it. There is so much going on in the
backgrounds of these songs. There might be a monster trashing the city,
or concert like lights. Every single song has a theme to it that Just
Dance 4 amplifies.
The songs in Just Dance 4 have all kinds of range. We can go from Elvis
Presley to Carly Rae Jepsen. Army of Lovers to Carrie Underwood. The mix
in Just Dance 4 means that there is something for just about everyone. I
found a nice track listing of songs in Just Dance 4 that I enjoy
listening to.
Two things for families to keep in mind is there are lyrical issues in
some of the songs. There are also certain hip movements, and butt
slapping animations that the player is expected to duplicate. Seeings
how Wii Remotes are used, lazy family members can focus on the right
hand only and get decent scores.
I can not reinforce it enough. Puppet Master Mode is fun in Just Dance 4
on the Wii U. The biggest problem we had with it Family Friendly Gaming
is everyone wanted to do it. So expect to have some discussions on
sharing, and not obsessing over it. Writing on the screen is neat, but I
can see some people abusing that with profane images or messages.
