October Baby
SCORE: 97
One of the
greatest things about Christian made movies is they deal with the issues
Hollywood ignores. They give a voice to people that Hollywood puts in a
lower class of citizenship. October Baby has shaken up Hollywood and
exposed their ugly side. The turmoil created is generally because there
are blow hearts out there who dogmatically hold on to their extreme
beliefs. October Baby is a healing film for anyone who as any portion of
their mind open.
October Baby is the best movie I have seen all year. It is the most
important movie of the year, and the movie that will impact our culture
the most. It follows Hannah (played by Rachel Hendrix) who learns some
earth shattering news. She is adopted. Not only is she adopted but she
is the survivor of a failed abortion attempt.
The lives impacted in October Baby are extensive. The pain, sorrow,
anger, and damage created are deep, long, and wide. Anyone with half of
a heart will feel emotion while watching October Baby. The toughest man
can be brought to tears by October Baby. And us women, well we can
easily be brought to tears by scenes in October Baby.
The shocks do not stop with Hannah finding out she was adopted. They
continue on throughout the film. We find out even more about her past.
We learn horrors that abortion clinics do not want told. Yet with all of
the damage caused by the failed abortion, we learn of hope in October
Baby. It is not done in a preachy or in your face way. Instead it offers
relief from all the pain and sorrow.
The production value of October Baby is extremely high. John Schneider
plays an amazing role in October Baby. The layers of emotion he exhibits
in this film is amazing. He is not the only one. The entire cast puts
forth what should be award winning performances. The various arenas of
humor in October Baby help alleviate the seriousness of the topic being
discussed.
I am surprised October Baby was given a PG-13 rating. I found no
offensive images, and no offensive language. The topic of murdering
helpless babies may be controversial for those earning major profits off
of them. Possibly exposing children to that kind of greed, and repugnant
behavior may be what the MPAA was referencing.
I feel very blessed that Family Friendly Gaming was provided a screener
copy of October Baby for this review. This powerful film is important in
our day and age. It can help heal the pain millions have all over the
world. I hope and pray October Baby continues to have a massive impact
on our society and culture. October Baby earns the rarely given Family
Friendly Gaming seal of approval.
