Pac-Man Connect and Play

One of the coolest things in stores are the the super charged, and super powered video game controllers. The ones that plug right into the television set. And they contain multiple games on them. I am being blessed with the opportunity to play and review Pac-Man Connect & Play.

Pac-Man Connect & Play looks like Pac-Man in an old arcade form. It has an old style joystick, a power button, an 'A' button, and a 'B' button. The connection cord, and the section for batteries is hidden underneath the bottom of the Pac-Man Connect & Play. This easily snaps off. This is a neat feature since we do not get cords all tangled up.

Pac-Man Connect & Play includes Pac-Man, Pac-Man 256, Pac & Pal, Pac-Man Plus, Super Pac-Man, New Rally-X, Galaxian, Galaga, Xevious, Bosconian, Mappy, and Dig Dug. This is a diverse array of games from the Namco Bandai past. A few of these contain violence in the form of space shooters. Xevious has levels over a planet so its a shooter of a different variety.

I love the old school feel to Pac-Man Connect & Play. Sure these games can be played on modern day systems, but there is something special about playing it with a joy stick. It forces the player to adapt, and appreciate the controls on modern day systems.

The old school sounds in Pac-Man Connect & Play are like riding a bike. They have always been there in my brain. I may not have heard them for years but I appreciate hearing them again. The difficulty of some of these games can bring repressed anger back to the surface - so be careful.

I think Pac-Man Connect & Play is a neat little product that families may be looking at this Christmas. It provides a lot of entertainment for the price, and it returns gamers to their roots. Be sure to teach children to share since some kids may want to hog the Pac-Man Connect & Play.
