PokePark 2 Wonders Beyond
SCORE: 70
Love them or hate them, you have to
recognize that Pokemon are here to stay. PokePark 2 Wonders Beyond is
the latest Pokemon release from Nintendo on the Wii. Players take on the
role of Pokemon exploring a fantasy Pokemon world. The Wish Park is a
mysterious place that Pokemon have been disappearing into. Can you find
the cause and put an end to it?
The soft colors, and tones in PokePark 2 Wonders Beyond are great. The
battles in PokePark 2 Wonders Beyond are generally over pretty quickly.
Pokemon have a few attacks in PokePark 2 Wonders Beyond that are used to
empty the health bar of an opponent. Winning battles grants the player
information, and friends. The more friends you have the more you can do
in the game.
The very first thing I noticed about PokePark 2 Wonders Beyond is the
sounds. The Pokemon make distinctive sounds. If you are familiar with
the television shows, and movies then you know exactly what I am talking
about. The music is also very familiar. Pokemon fans will be right at
home in PokePark 2 Wonders Beyond.
Everywhere I looked in PokePark 2 Wonders Beyond I found different
Pokemon. Most of them come from the Pokemon Black/Pokemon White
franchise. So if you played either of those you will know exactly what
to expect. The look pretty good on the Wii too. Players perform a
variety of quests in PokePark 2 Wonders Beyond. When they visit the Wish
Park they unlock mini games for up to four family members.
Family Friendly Gaming was provided a loaner version of PokePark 2
Wonders Beyond for this review. It is my personal opinion that PokePark
2 Wonders Beyond is worth the price of admission. I enjoyed playing it,
and so did the children who played it with me. Routinely they would
verbally identify the various Pokemon for me.
The main lesson in PokePark 2 Wonders Beyond is to make friends, and to
save the day. You can do more with two than one can do alone. This is a
Biblical concept that is great to see. Families will also be pleased to
learn there is no evolution in PokePark 2 Wonders Beyond. The different
forms of the Pokemon are in the game, but the mature ones are there to
assist and guide. Players do not turn into them.
It was a real pleasure for me to play and review PokePark 2 Wonders
Beyond. This Wii game is deeper than I was expecting, but open ended
enough that anyone can play and enjoy it. I found that I could go
against types and still win battles since they are in 3D action. I did
this by avoiding their attacks, circling, and getting them. Patience is
rewarded in this regard.
