Victorious Taking the Lead

I downloaded a few Victorious television shows to my iPad on iTunes to get a feel for the show. I find it interesting, and humorous. My boys are not even close to being interested. They prefer iCarly, and Figure it Out. I do think Victorious is for an age bracket above theirs. I found myself intrigued by Victorious Taking the Lead on the Wii.

Victorious Taking the Lead is played in episodes. Each episode has chapters. During the main part of Victorious Taking the Lead we take on the role of Tori Vega. She has to perform a variety of tasks for other characters. This involved getting certain items from locations or other characters. We sometimes have to find out where something is. Generally there are not too many locations to look.

Once we complete all the tasks a character will dance for us. This comes in the form of a rhythm game. The rhythm games can be insanely difficult especially with the Wii Remote. Each screen in Victorious Taking the Lead contains hidden coins. Tapping on them brings them into your inventory. Then we can use them to purchase things like the rhythm games to play them whenever we want.

Victorious Taking the Lead agitated me when I first played it. Why? I had to pick up an item, open my inventory, select the item, and then go and interact with the next item. An example would be picking up three books. I picked up a book, opened my inventory, and then selected the bookcase. I selected the bookcase after selecting the book and Victorious Taking the Lead told me to select a book first.

As I collected additional items in Victorious Taking the Lead this problem lessened. It would have still been nice for some kind of an auto detection when I select an item I can interact with. Especially when I had the item that is needed already in my inventory. It should have just taken care of the interaction instead of acting like I still needed to collect the item.

All of the crazy characters from the show are in Victorious Taking the Lead. They are the same wacky characters we know from the show - like the drama teacher. Who needs to be institutionalized in my opinion. There are some lyrical issues in Victorious Taking the Lead. As well as plenty of characters with attitude issues.

The graphics in Victorious Taking the Lead are okay. They are certainly not photo realistic. The Wii is beginning to show its age in terms of graphics. I could tell who the characters were, and that is important. The majority of characters dressed appropriately in Victorious Taking the Lead.

Victorious Taking the Lead feels like episodes from the television show. This is one of the neatest things in this home console game. Fans of the show will get into Victorious Taking the Lead. As eyes turn to the Wii U, it is nice to play a Wii game, and realize it is not a dead system just yet.
