Wizard Defenders
SCORE: 82
Wizard Defenders is an
interesting two dollar downloadable game on the Nintendo DSi. Yes it
will also work on the Nintendo 3DS, there is just not any 3D though. We
turn the hand held device on its side, and play on the touch screen. The
attacks our characters launch wind up on the other screen.
Wizard Defenders is a match three game with a purpose. If the player
matches three or more in the same row a powerful attack goes along that
row. If the player matches three or more along multiple columns then a
wave attack goes to the other screen. What is the purpose of sending
these attacks over?
The purpose of Wizard Defenders is to hit the monsters that are on the
other screen. They will move towards the players screen. If they reach
the end, then they send a nasty barrier onto our side. A barrier that we
have to destroy with matches. If the barriers reach the end of the
screen then it is game over.
The day and night cycles in Wizard Defenders are well thought out. I
enjoyed seeing how many days I could last. The characters in Wizard
Defenders look like witches to me. The monsters are standard fantasy
creatures. They vanish as their hit points are drained from the players
attacks.
The music in Wizard Defenders is fantastic. I can not get enough of it
as I am playing through days of Wizard Defenders. The price of Wizard
Defenders is more than fair in my humble opinion. It is an interesting
mixing of genres that can reach a wide array of gamers.
