Abyss Attack
SCORE: 68
Abyss
Attack is a mixture of the space shooter genre, and the app runner
genre. Let that marinate for few minutes. Are you back now? Okay, let's
go. It does so at the bottom of the sea. No Ariel to serenade us either.
What there are is all these things to shoot and destroy.
Respectful, kind, considerate, and caring gamers like myself had
difficulties playing Abyss Attack at first. Why? Because I have no
interest in killing anything. Nor am I one of those aggressive gamers
who wants to destroy, destroy, destroy. I choose the path of creation
instead, like others here at Family Friendly Gaming.
The ship in Abyss Attack is actually a submarine. The aquatic theme is
all over Abyss Attack. As is having to replay the same levels over and
over again. It gets monotonous. The same goes for fighting the same
bosses again and again.
The goal of Abyss Attack is like any runner - get as far along as you
can. Which means staying alive, collecting gems, and using them to
upgrade your weapons, special attacks, and the submarines themselves.
There are plenty of expensive in app purchases to take countless hours
off that too.
The animations in Abyss Attack are top notch for an app. In fact many
apps out there could use Abyss Attack as a lesson in how to animate. The
sounds in Abyss Attack range. Some are good, and some were creepy - like
that voice talking really low.
Abyss Attack is designed for you to play over and over again. At least
until you earn upgrades to make the game easier. Then you should (please
note should) be able to get farther in the game. Abyss Attack can lag on
some of the older iOS devices.
