Alien Hive
SCORE: 70
Anyone out there in Family Friendly Gaming
Nation remember those old puzzle games where you slide pieces around
trying to make a picture? Alien Hive reminds me of that. Just add in
match three. We can move pieces around the screen trying to match three
of the same kind.
Alien Hive is different once you match three. The three items usually
turn into something new. Then we have to match three of those to get
something else new. This goes on and on. Of course there are different
types and colors of things we are matching in Alien Hive so that is
where strategy comes into play.
There is some major drama and controversy in Alien Hive. When you match
three and it becomes something else the game says you just evolved it
into a new creature. I hope the game developer did not realize what a
controversial and touchy subject that is. It is the kind of a divisive
word that will have millions reject the game on that one principal
alone.
I am playing Alien Hive before it comes out live to the public. So
things like pricing, and rating are not determined. There are in app
purchases that make me wonder if Alien Hive will be one of those free
apps. The game play balance reinforces that concept. There are bad robot
characters that will interfere. They can be removed with an item. Before
too long though, you will run out, and run out of resources to purchase
more.
Alien Hive allows the player one hundred moves per game. So the goal is
to grow the creatures into new creatures as quickly as possible. There
are also matching items that can add turns. Those robots become a pain
very quickly though. Wormholes are one of the best power ups in Alien
Hive.
