From the opening movie I could tell Alien Spidy was going to be something special. The humor and character in this downloadable game is very high. Alien Spidy is also a very captivating and addicting game. Parts of Alien Spidy can be challenging, especially when we have to swing, bounce, and jump.

A little spider from another planet crash lands on earth thanks to a malfunction in his ship. He is on his way to find his ship and get off the planet. Along the way he collects items, avoids dangers, and avoids animals that will try and destroy him. Alien Spidy evaporates when he takes a hit and re-materializes at the last check point.

The web slinging in Alien Spidy is done via the right joystick. This takes some practice and getting used to. Even then it can be difficult to hit the right spot and swing where you want to. Younger family members can get frustrated trying to make this work. Thankfully check points are frequent.

Alien Spidy has items that add to your points, and items that remove from them. So we collect certain items, and avoid others. The game grades players on how many points they scored. So many points is one star, two stars, etc. At the start of a level there is a points goal that the player is encouraged to reach.

Alien Spidy gives out achievements like presents on Christmas. I earned four or five in one level early on. The better you play the more you will earn. The graphics in Alien Spidy are a trip. Many bold colors against a black ground background. It fits this game where we are allowed to avoid violence.

The music and special effect sounds in Alien Spidy are fun. Just like the humor in this home console game. Quite a few of us here at Family Friendly Gaming were laughing at various aspects of Alien Spidy. Please note that Alien Spidy is just over a gig, so make sure you have enough room on your machine to download it.

All in all Alien Spidy is a fun little game that can teach perseverance. There are difficult parts in this game. There is also a flow to what needs to be done. Once you can feel that flow you will be off the races. I am very thankful I was able to play and review Alien Spidy.
