Biorhythm
SCORE: 72
Biorhythm is an
application on the Nintendo DSi that simulates those old biorhythm
machines. In fact everything about it feels like an old oddity you might
find at a county fair. It takes in your birth date and lets you know
your intellectual, emotional, and physical curves. Biorhythm allows for
up to nine profiles to be entered into it.
Biorhythm tells people how compatible they are. I can see this causing
all kinds of problems. Imagine you have been married to someone for
years and Biorhythm tells you that your not compatible. What would you
do with that knowledge? Would you believe Biorhythm or the reality you
live in?
The moral and ethical issues of Biorhythm are debatable. Especially when
we bring in the old saying: "opposites attract." So maybe an
incompatible Biorhythm makes sense. I won't use Biorhythm as a way to
screen out potential mates, especially not a soul mate.
The controls in Biorhythm are difficult to navigate. I would hit a
button thinking it would do something, and it was on a different screen.
The problem is the screen is not always visible until it is printed.
Once I found out I had to hit enter, then select a profile, and then
select what I wanted to do - I was on my way. The controls in Biorhythm
are definitely clunky. I understand it is emulating this old software,
but some kind of upgrades would have been nice.
Biorhythm is selling for 200 Nintendo DSi points. In essence Biorhythm
cost two dollars. A very cheap price for this kind of a thing. In fact
cheaper than one of those machines at the fair. I have reviewed some
strange products here at Family Friendly Gaming before. Biorhythm is
probably the strangest. It is the most unique.
